History of the port of Pasaia

The port of Pasaia has a long and fascinating history. Since the Middle Ages, it has been a vital center for maritime and commercial activities. During the 16th and 17th centuries, the port mainly focused on shipbuilding for the Crown and for the whaling and cod fisheries in Newfoundland. In the 1960s and 1970s, Pasajes was a port of great importance for cod fishing.
