A day of industrial tourism, the most unknown part of the Basque Country

To get a closer look at the industrial tourism that is so valuable in the Basque Country, we are going to visit the region of Urola Garaia (comprising the towns of Ezkio-Itsaso, Legazpi, Urretxu and Zumarraga). From the forges and farmhouses with wine presses to today's industry, the region has undergone a long process of industrialisation, mainly centred on iron.

Discover Getaria, the land of Balenciaga, Elkano and Txakoli wine

Half an hour from the hotel, by road, is one of the most charming villages in Gipuzkoa, Getaria. A coastal town, known for being the birthplace of Juan Sebastián Elkano, the first man to circumnavigate the world, and of the designer Cristóbal Balenciaga. It is also known for its famous restaurants that prepare grilled fish, its mouse and for the txakoli, a fresh white wine with D.O. that is grown here.
