With 45 monumental public sculptures adorning streets and squares, Chillida stands as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century in Spain. His legacy extends far beyond national borders, reaching places like the United States, Germany, and France.

Eduardo Chillida 100 years: an international meeting point

Under the slogan "Eduardo Chillida 100 Years. Meeting Point," an extensive program will unfold from 2024 to 2026. This tribute aims not only to highlight Chillida's sculptures but also to internationalize his work and share his ideals on a global scale.

A vibrant and multidisciplinary program

The special programming will encompass various disciplines, from exhibitions to audiovisual projects, all designed to capture Chillida's unique essence from different perspectives. This ever-evolving project will focus on the artist's influence, guided by nature, philosophy, and science.

· Chillida Leku: heart of the tribute

Chillida Leku, the museum housing the majority of the sculptor's work, will be the epicenter of these celebrations. This space, which fulfilled Chillida's dream of transforming a Basque farmhouse into a place for his sculptures, will host prominent exhibitions and activities.

· Global Participation

The celebration extends beyond Chillida Leku, with regional museums like the Balenciaga Museum, ARTIUM, and Tabakalera - International Center for Contemporary Culture joining the festivities. Collaborating with the Eduardo Chillida - Pilar Belzunce Foundation, these museums will bring the sculptor's work to a broader audience.

· International projection

Internationalizing Chillida's work is a key objective. Renowned museums and galleries worldwide, such as the German WÜRTH Museum, the San Francisco Museum of Art, and the Art Gallery of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, will be part of the celebration.

The Foundation has collaborated with the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council to create an educational unit for schools. Additionally, editorial products such as "The Chillida Map" and a special edition of "Chillida's Writings" have been developed to disseminate his artistic legacy.
